BFC NEWS AND EVENTS
SCHEDULE FOR JULY 2009
There will be
no classes or lessons during the month of July.
However, t he club will
be available for open fencing at the following times:
Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm
Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm
Tuesday from 4:30 to 7:30 pm
Thursday from 4:30 to 7:30 pm
GREAT RESULTS FROM OUR FENCERS!
World Championships in Belfast, April 4-13, 2009: Lee Kiefer took silver in Cadet Women's Foil on April 5, and on Saturday April 11 fenced in the team event, helping the US Junior Women's Foil Team take the GOLD! Visit the USFA website for more links and photos. Congratulations, Lee, on these great achievements, and for being an excellent representative of our club and our country!
Kentucky Division Super Youth Circuit, April 10-12: At this national-level event, held at the Galt House in Louisville, BFC fencers Sam Brickley, Hazem Khazbak, Mayar Khazbak, Axel Kiefer, Christian Pollard, Josh Preston, Wes Preston, and James Young competed and represented our club well with their hard work and sportsmanship. Hazem Khazbak took a 5th place medal in Y14 Men's Foil, Mayar Khazbak took 2nd in Y10 Women's Foil, and Axel Kiefer won GOLD in both Y12 and Y14 Men's Foil. Do YOU want to fence? Fencing is a lifetime sport for all ages! Whether you are interested in fencing for fitness, fun, or competition, you can get started with the BFC Beginner Program. After completing the program, you can join an upper level class, continue private lessons, or simply hone your skills by attending open fencing sessions. Click here for a printable info sheet.
